John Tacke

John Tacke is a technology executive and fractional CTO who helps growth-stage and PE-backed companies turn technology investment into business outcomes. He brings 30 years of experience building and scaling engineering organizations across healthcare, SaaS, and regulated industries.

Most recently, John served as CTO at EvidenceCare, a Nashville-based HealthTech company, where he rebuilt the engineering organization to 30+ members, led the adoption of AI/ML capabilities, and managed technology integration through multiple acquisitions. Under his leadership, the platform scaled to serve health systems nationwide.

Prior to EvidenceCare, John led the redesign and rebuilding of the time and labor tracking system and payroll integration as part of the City of Seattle's $175M technology modernization program. At Mosaic Company, he built and scaled a SaaS business unit from concept to market. He founded Frontline Solutions in 1995 and has been delivering technology leadership and custom solutions ever since.

John holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University and a BA in Physics from Whitman College. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

How I Work

As a fractional CTO, I embed with your leadership team 2-3 days per week, providing the same caliber of executive technology leadership you would get from a full-time CTO — scaled to your stage and budget.

A typical engagement runs 6 months to 2 years and includes architecture and roadmap development, engineering team building and hiring, vendor strategy, board-level technology reporting, and hands-on delivery leadership. I am not just an advisor — I operate.
